One new twist on the gameplay for Ultimate Alliance 2 is the new Fusion system, which allows players to combine the powers of two of their characters to gain a special new effect. For instance, a Fusion attack involving the Human Torch and the Thing has the Thing ripping up a piece of pavement while the Human Torch ignites it, effectively creating a fiery meteor to throw at enemies.
