RPG players will enjoy this upcoming release

Atari and Obsidian Entertainment announced today that Neverwinters Nights 2 has gone gold. The game is scheduled for North American release of October 31 and European release on November 3.

The game is developed by Obsidian Entertainment, and is said to feature new extensive single player gaming. Also, the characters
are said to be more developed and players will have available a new powerful toolset meant to help them to create their own universes, storylines and quests.

According to Obsidian Entertainment CEO, Feargus Urquhart, his company wanted to develop a sequel that could strictly follow the Neverwinter Night tradition, in order for it to satisfy all RPG players out there and the modding community.

The first installment in the Neverwinter Nights RPG series was released back in 2002 and was partially based on the original Neverwinter Nights online MMORPG, which was the first graphical MMORPG. It ran on AOL from 1991 to 1997.
Further expansion packs for the game have been released, 2003 marked the release of Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide, and also, in late 2003, Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark was released.
