inFAMOUS

inFAMOUS for the Playstation 3 puts players in the shoes of Cole, a former bike messenger who finds himself in the middle of a city thrown into chaos. Fortunately for Cole, he also finds himself developing electicity-based super powers. Whether he’ll use his newfound powers to restore the city or tear it down – that’s up to the player.

inFAMOUS takes place in the fictional Empire City, where normal everyman Cole works as a messenger. As the game starts, Cole is the apparent sole survivor at the epicenter of a massive explosion that has destroyed several city blocks. Not only did he survive, but he soon discovers that he has the power to manipulate electricity in a variety of different ways. Meanwhile, the city has been turned upside down as the populace is in a panic, being consumed by riots and an unleashed criminal element. The government puts the city under lockdown, and since Cole was last seen delivering a package to the place that would soon be the center of the explosion, he become public enemy number one. The player, as Cole, must not only survive being hunted by the authorities but also hunt down the people who are truly responsible for the catastrophe. The only question is whether he’ll use his powers to go around his pursuers – or through them.

inFAMOUS gives players complete freedom to explore the environs of Empire City and interact with its populace as they see fit. Players can choose to engage solely in the story-driven missions, or they can simply move around the city as they see fit. The city is full of regular citizens who are just trying to survive in the aftermath of the explosion, authorities looking to bring Cole in, and ruthless gangs who are exploiting the situation for personal gain. Cole will have to make a choice on how to deal with these different factions. Each action can shift his standing on the Karma scale toward either good or evil.

Cole has an edge in most of these situations due to his newfound powers of electrical manipulation. As the game progresses, Cole can learn new ways to use his powers and upgrade older powers to be more powerful. These powers can be used in combat, such as by channeling bolts of electricity into enemies. They can also be used to travel around the game world and interact with different parts of it. The powers that Cole can gain are partially controlled by his Karma – so an evil Cole will earn different powers than a good Cole.

As the game progresses, Cole’s enemies begin to learn about his powers and attempt to counter them. Cole’s power is finite – he must recharge it by touching exposed wires or other direct sources of electricity. His enemies will eventually start destroying these sources, leaving Cole with only one other option: to drain electricity from human bodies. Civilians can become convenient batteries in a pinch, but is it worth the cost to Cole’s karma?

Key Features:

  • Take on the role of Cole MacGrath, once a humble bike messenger and now a super-powered fugitive
  • Gain experience to unlock new electricity-based powers that allow you to battle enemies and navigate the game environment
  • Unravel a complex story and discover who is really behind the explosion that has devastated Empire City and changed Cole’s life forever
  • Every choice has a consequence – will you use Cole’s power to help rebuild the city, or to plunge it further into chaos?
  • An evolving city that reacts to Cole’s actions, including enemies that learn about his powers and how to exploit his weaknesses
  • In addition to his powers, Cole is a powerful athlete who can climb buildings and allow players to explore new areas

Burning Crusade Tips for the Beginner – Part 3

Burning Crusade Tips

Burning Crusade

This is the last part of my article on quick and dirty burning crusade tips for the beginner, after playing the World of Warcraft for a few weeks now, you might already be thinking of playing its first Expansion Set – WoW: The Burning Crusade (TBC).  Read on to get some Burning Crusade Tips that will help you set your mind on what’s ahead.

You can also set your Hearthstone in whatever Quest hub you are using.  Then fly to Shattrath, port to the capital and simply Hearthstone back to the Quest hub.  This will save you one trip of flying.
When you kill in someone in PvP or achieve a World PvP objective, you will receive a Token that’s specific to the zone.  This could be the Mark of Honor Hold for Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh or Halaa Research/Battle Token from Nagrand.  You can swap these tokens for some equipment or rewards to the PvP vendors in your present zone.
The city of Shattrath has 4 Factions but players are forced to chooses between the Aldor and the Scryer.  After you choose side, the part of the city controlled by the others are blocked-off to you.  Unless you decide to get rid of the NPC guarding the area.  The Faction you choose will determine what vendors you can access and what Quests you can undertake.
It is best to make a decision based on the Reputation Rewards available on how you play the game.  You also have to consider the recipes and formulas available from them.  Shattrath has Sha’tar and the lower city reputation Vendors or Quartermaster.  There are also many Profession trainers, portals to the main cities of Azeroth, Battleground NPCs and other important interests.
Leveling up hours really depend on your play style.  If you race through the game, you can reach level 70 in about 140 hours or less.  But if you take your time, you’ll get it in about 180 hours.
Socketed Items are like Enchantments, they boost your statistics and you need to use them earlier.  If you don’t find your enchantments valuable, Socketed Items may not appeal to you that much.
When you reach level 70, you should be able to make about 1,000G (Gold).  This will make it possible for you to get a regular flying mount.  At the same time, there will be new commodities like equipments, materials, recipes and weapons that will surely interest you.  Because of this, you should consider every option of earning gold in TBC.
Traveling using flying mounts will make your conquests easier to perform.  Gathering the materials and reagents for your projects and recipes will take lesser time.  There are also areas that are only accessible with flight paths.  In PvP mode, you can drop on someone from the sky to start a fight.  As you reach level 70, flying mounts will become more of a necessity.  Epic flying mounts are the sports car in WoW, you will definitely want one.
You can find the Mysteries of the Light book for the Honor Hold Quest at the Armory.  You’ll find this as the Ruins behind Honor Hold.  The Dead Skeletons on the Path of Glory could be very difficult to see.  You’ll find Netherguard Bitter in Netherguard Keep in the Blasted Lands.  This is located at the southwest corner of the North Keep in Netherguard.
There are more experiences to gain from just exploring the brand new continent of Outland.  Always remember that after learning to do something, you should find better ways of doing them.  This involves asking other WoW players who may know something you don’t.  Like real life, there is no harm in asking for directions.  The path to mastery is covered with answered questions.  Truthful answers to be more specific.

Burning Crusade Tips for the Beginner – Part 2

Welcome to the second part of Burning Crusade tips for the beginner, after playing the World of Warcraft for a few weeks now, you might already be thinking of playing its first Expansion Set – WoW: The Burning Crusade (TBC).  Read on to get some Burning Crusade Tips that will help you set your mind on what’s ahead.

If you’re from the Horde, move to the right after the portal.  A Bat Handler NPC will fly you to Thrallmar.  Hellfire Peninsula is best when you take time to explore it.  There are a few Quest hub areas and some are easy to miss if you’re not attentive.  If you do, you’ll lose potential Experience Points (XP), loot and fun.  Numerous flight paths also exist over Hellfire Peninsula.  Another town of the Alliance in this zone is the Temple of Telhamut.

Sadly, there are is no Auction House in Outland.  You’ll have to return to the main city in Azeroth to do business.  Shattrath is the only city with 2 banks that is involved in the Scryer and Aldor factions of the city.

Skill trainers are plentiful in Outland.  Alliance Profession trainers can be found in Honor Hold, while Horde Profession trainers are located in Thrallmar.  The main city of Outland is Shattrath which is situated between Nagrand and Terokkar Forrest.  This city has various Profession trainers and is both shared by the Alliance and the Horde.  The Outland doesn’t have Class trainers, if you need one, you need to go back to Azeroth.

You can learn Master First Aid by going to the Temple of Telhamut.  From there, you need to purchase a book entitled Master First Aid – Doctor in the House from a vendor.  You should also purchase another book called Netherweave Bandage and its heavy version from the same seller.  You have to grind out some 30 skill points by making Heavy Runecloth Bandages and this will use between 80-120 Runecloths.  For the Horde, the First Aid Books can be located in Falcon Crest.  Be sure to get the Flight Path to return to Thrallmar.

Because of the absence of Auction Houses in Outland, you definitely need to return to a major city in Azeroth just to auction, bid, buy or sell.  It is better to use your main character to perform direct equipment comparisons.

There are some alternatives for this tiring work.  One is setting your Hearthstone in Honor Hold and then asking a Mage to port you back to a main city.  Give the Mage some tip and use the Hearthstone to go back to Outland.  Looking for a Mage every time you need to port could piss some people around.

If you don’t want to depend on a Mage,  set your Hearthstone in Stormwind which is nearer to the Dark Portal.  You can fly back to the Blasted Lands, pass the Dark Portal and fly back to Honor Hold.  During this flight, you can take a short break from the computer.

You can ride to Shattrath, set your Hearthstone and grab the flight path.  This is easy if you’re on level 60.  Shattrath has portals to all the major cities in Azeroth.  You can easily fly to Shattrath, port to a major city in Azeroth, Hearthstone back to Shattrath and fly back to wherever zone you came from.  The only drawback is the amount of flights to and from Shattrath and your original zone.

There are other tips, I will like to share in this blog, but I will like to do more reseach on it. I will share more tips on Burning Crusade after I am done with my current research on this topic, which is going to be the part 3 and the final tips on Burning Crusade.

Review of Assassin’s Creed II on Playstation3 & Xbox 360

Playstation3
I couldn’t wait for my copy of Assassin’s Creed II to finally get here, and when I finally got it I couldn’t put it down.
It reminded me a lot of the original Assassin’s Creed because it had a ton of missions that didn’t seem to have anything to do with the game at first. As I played longer, though, I figured out why it was arranged that way.
I was irritated at first because it took so long to get to use a sword. The skills I worked on without a sword really came in handy later in the game, though.

They’ve made a lot of things better in this version, but I’m still not very happy with the slow frame rate. The bottom line is that Assassin’s Creed II is definitely a fun game and I’m glad I got it.

Xbox 360
Assassin’s Creed II has pretty much exactly the same type of gameplay as the original Assassin’s Creed, so if you liked to play the first one you’ll like the way the second one plays too. If you didn’t like the original, this version won’t give you anything new that you would like more. If you did enjoy Assassin’s Creed, you’ll really like the upgrades to the familiar game format that you get with Assassin’s Creed II. The game developers really went all out to create a top notch gaming experience.

This updated to Assassin’s Creed is an improvement on almost every level. The story is more engaging, there are more missions, and you have more items to use. The overall feel of Assassin’s Creed II is more like a role-playing game than a standard action adventure. You get to interact more with your environment, and you can buy equipment and upgrade it along the way. The realistic style is also enhanced by your ability to go to the doctor and purchase medicines.

The game is visually stunning. The Italian Renaissance is a fascinating era to explore, and this game gives you the freedom to interact with your surroundings quite a bit. You get to explore these Italian cities during one of the most interesting times in history, and you can even interact with famous people like Leonardo da Vinci. I hope you enjoy the review.

Burning Crusade Tips for the Beginner – Part 1

After playing the World of Warcraft for a few weeks now, you might already be thinking of playing its first Expansion Set – WoW: The Burning Crusade (TBC).  Read on to get some Burning Crusade Tips that will help you set your mind on what’s ahead.

Before installing TBC in your computer, it is highly recommended that you read our Burning Crusade Tips to give you an overview of the Expansion Set.  The first one would be to verify that you meet the minimum hardware requirements to have a smooth gaming experience.  Once your computer is qualified, you can play TBC on a trial basis to test whether you will really like this expansion.

You can download a trial version of TBC from the WoW website.  To do this, you need to sign up first and create an account in Battle.net.  This easy as filling-up a web form and clicking Play Free Trial to proceed.  Your Account Name is the same as your e-mail Address.  Check your e-mail and open the e-mail from WoW.

You will be guided by this e-mail to download a small program.  After downloading it, run this application and it will download the complete expansion.  The download time will depend on your internet connection.  You can leave this process running in the background while you continue reading our Burning Crusade Tips.

After the long download, just run the set-up program to install TBC on your computer.  Just read the on-screen instructions and decide carefully when prompted.  After installing the game, just click the appropriate desktop icon to start loading TBC.

While you are still downloading or installing TBC , you can just read ahead.  Before finally playing The Burning Crusade, it is best to gather 100-120 Runecloths, this will improve your First Aid Skill from 300 to 330.  You should also gather various potions and other supplies.  This includes Health Pots, Sharpening Stones, Troll’s Blood and other items that can give you a boost.

New items, weapons, equipments, materials and recipes will be introduced in TBC.  So it is best if you prepare as much gold so you can to purchase those that you need or want.  You should also travel light when going to the Outland.  This means a near empty bag.  Only carry items that are essential.  You have to do this because there are no Auction Houses in Outland so you need all the available space to minimize traveling.

If you’re with the Alliance, you should consider relocating to Stormwind because it will be nearer to the Blasted Lands compared to Ironforge or somewhere else.  If you plan to visit Outland, you just need to go to the Blasted Lands.  From there, you just walk through the Dark Portal.  But to pass through, you need to be at level 58 and have the expansion activated in your account.

Upon reaching the Outland, you will first see the Hellfire Peninsula which is intended for  level 60-63 players.  This is also one of the largest zones in WoW.  If you’re from the Alliance, move to the left after passing the portal.  You will meet a Flight Path Non-Playable Character (NPC) who can fly you to Honor Hold.  This is the main town of the Alliance in Hellfire Peninsula.

This is just part 1 of part 3 of my article: Quick and Dirty Burning Crusade Tips for the Beginner, I will continue from where I stop in the coming part, watch out for more tip on this topic. All the best.
