Phantasy Star Universe Beta Finally on XBL

However, most users experiencing massive server issues.

Since Wednesday, gamers have been waiting for Sega to solve whatever issue was holding Phantasy Star Universe’s free, open beta test from appearing on Xbox Live. The game finally appeared on the service this morning, however, and it’s been a mad rush to complete the download ever since. Unfortunately, more problems have appeared the moment the last few kilobytes are consumed.

“I just downloaded the demo, but it can’t/won’t connect to the PSU server. Whats the deal? Anyone else with this problem?,” said 1UP user ihavefriends in our Xbox 360 forums, and he isn’t alone, with most people skipping the game’s tutorial entirely because of continual hang ups, difficulties finishing character creation due to server time outs and, as our user pointed out, even logging in at all.

Then again, that’s part of what beta testing is for, but you would’ve hoped Sega could overcome basic hurdles such as these a week before the game’s released, considering it’s already available in Japan.

My own Xbox 360′s miles and miles away at the moment (curses!), so I can’t relay any personal experience just yet, but how about you guys?
